SCRIP is a term that means “substitute money.” When you purchase SCRIP, you are purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. The SCRIP program is a great opportunity for your family and friends to help support our church and school without a big fundraising effort.
Family and friends simply buy gift cards/certificates to make purchases that they would normally use cash for like clothing, food, travel, and other essentials. You can buy gift cards for local and national businesses. Local businesses like HyVee, Kum & Go, Wal-Mart, Fareway, and many more are places you go to every day. Some national businesses that we have cards for are: Pro Bass, Red Lobster, and Kohl’s. For a complete list of available cards, go to www.glscrip.com. The school buys these gift cards/certificates at a discounted price through Great Lake SCRIP. You get full value for what you buy; you buy a $25 Wal-Mart card and you get $25 to spend. The 2-10% discount is then split between you and the school/church.
The order forms can be found outside the door to the school office. Fill out the order form and place it back in the box with your check. Orders will be filled as soon as possible. Cards can also be purchased at the church office on Sundays.
